As an Executive of PBA, I have recently returned from the International iBurst Mobile Broadband Forum held in South Africa

International iBurst Forum 2006

FEB 2002: My work has centred around internet videoconferencing, since my time as manager of the famous ClubOz CuSeeMe site in the mid 90s. After 3 years of planning, it seems my project to create a commercial videoconferncing ASP portal with quality bandwidth finally came of age, with funding arriving this year - on International Womans Day!

I am now a director on the board of Videcom. The service is different from any other around, and allows users to instantly book, create and access their own private conferences from anywhere on the web for a low cost per minute. Ability to save sessions, upload and download files, stream sessions of set levels of interactivity within sessions are additional features which make it very useful to business and personal users alike.

I was married on New Years Eve 1999/2000 at midnight on a yacht in the Whitsunday Islands off Queensland coast of Australia. Such a beautiful amazing place. Such a romantic wedding. And since we've been married we have been so happy - this after 7 years of occasional hell.

I've posted some extra photos of our cruise pre- and post wedding in the gallery so you can see what a fantastically beautiful place the Whitsunday Islands is.

APRIL2000

A couple of weeks ago, our new found happiness was almost permanently shattered when Paul was involved in a horrific car acident which resulted in the loss of life of a poor little baby.

His was one of several vehicles stopped at a set of lights, when a truck laden with 20 tonnes of earth, unable to brake crushed the vehicle behind him, slamming his vehicle down the road on its side into a third vehicle. A furhter 7 vehicles were involved. The cars immediately burst into flames.

Paul was able to escape his burning vehicle and assist in the evacuation of the passengers from the burning vehicle behind. Fortunately a woman and one of her children were rescued, however, sadly, the baby was incinerated, along with three vehicles (Pauls included).

All his roofing tools were destroyed in the fire, but this is a small loss compared to what could have been the loss of his life. He was only saved because he had iron bars fabricated over the cab of his utility (pick up truck)for carrying ladders. These bars prevented the cab from being crushed.

LOOK AT THIS!!!!!!

His vehicle is the utility on its side - all burnt out

Dec 2001

A mixed bag for December 2001. On December 21st, my father dies after a prolonged illness. He will be sadly missed by all the family. From left, Dad, Mum, Aunt Joan, Great Aunt Bettie, and Nana. This photo was taken over 40 years ago! How time flies....

Imagine my surprise when I find that I have won the National IT secrets of Innovation Competition. The prize is presenting Videcom at the World IT Congress Business Forum in February 2002. Not only is this a great honour , with recognition for the past 5 years hard work, I now have the opportunity to present to the World decision makers. This will provide Videcom with much needed publicity, and could kick my career into new directions. My hope is to move into more spiritually fulfilling, socially responsible, or charitable areas, or alternatively into Lifestyle Management and Motivational speaking/Media Presentation.
